Guppies originate from northeast South America. Specifically, Brazil, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and some places in the Caribbean. they were discovered in the 1850s by a man named Robert John Lechmere Guppy, who they were then named after. They were later domesticated in the early 1900s by Europe, Japan in the US. Guppies were brought to different parts of the world, and can now be naturally found in different areas.
